I made this inspiration board or mood board last year while taking the online "blogging your way" course with Holly Becker of decor8. One of the first "assignments" was to make a mood board to help realize or confirm what colors we love and textures and patterns. I already knew what I loved, but wanted to have fun putting it all together anyway.
I was in the thick of my book proposal at the time, and never posted these pics...but they are still so true for me, even a year later! I walked around my house, and my craft room gathering all the little things that inspire me. These colors have always been favorites, especially the green. I think these will always be 'my colors'. The flowers remind me of all that is good in this world. That God has created so many beautiful things for us to see an be inspired by on a daily basis.

Busy Monday: Too Busy!
Hi everyone,
I'm so glad to have all you friends following my blog...but this week my two girls need more of me (this picture is about 5 years old...and I wish they were still this little - time flies - that's the old LR too!!). I have been shipping out orders galore because there are so many thumbsuckers in this world that need to stop...and that just means that I haven't had time for blogging and being a mommy and everything else I have to do. My blog is my bonus time - which I have none of this week.
I'm hoping that by taking this week off - it will help me to get a jump on next weeks projects and yummy recipes! If you have a recipe to share, by all means - send it my way (I'll be sure to give credit and send them to your blog too)! I'm always looking to share easy, quick and yummy family recipes!
I'm also working on getting my cute little Owl Ornament Sachet published and need to have that in by a certain date! I can't let that pass me by! I'm so excited for my first publication!
So have a look around...stay a while - leave a comment - I would love that! It lets me know you were here and what you enjoyed! Thanks for reading - and please stop in next week! -kg
Please do not use a copy of this photo of my children for any reason. Thank you!!!

Busy Monday: Starting a Blog Part 1
As you can see from my archive list, I signed up to start blogging in January of this year. But as you can also see from my archive list, I didn't start really blogging until September! I really wasn't sure what to blog about, I didn't have my product up and running anywhere to purchase or promote and I wasn't sure I'd have anything interesting to say!
As soon as I got my Etsy shop up in September, I started to hear "the" buzz that blogging was a great way to promote your shop. But I didn't really want a blog that was all..."hey everyone , look at me"!
So where do you start? First you have to decide which free blogging service you want to sign up with. There are pros and cons to each, so please do your research. Here's a few to check out:
Blogger (aka blogspot)
Wordpress.org or Wordpress.com
Live Journal
Not so free blogging: fees
Typepad - you can start blogging with a free trial, but it can cost between $8.95 a month for the minimums to $89.95 a month for a Business Pro account.
If you want to blog and get paid to blog - check out this list of sites...from Hongkiat.com.
After you've checked out those blogs, and you've signed up, come back here next week for more information about changing the look of your blog and personalizing it to really represent you!
See you tomorrow for a little bit of This 'n' That! Happy reading! -kg
